Leading telco Bharti Airtel on Sunday said it has entered pact with Selecto Systems as a preferred partner for providing telecom network infrastructure and services for its IT SEZ-Haryana Technology Park (HTP).

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the companies under which Airtel has being assigned the ‘Preferred Telecom Service Provider’ status and would be given preferential rights to establish and provide telecom infrastructure and services at the HTP, the company said in a statement.

“The partnership provides us an opportunity to ensure that customers at the SEZ are offered the strongest and best in class telecom services,” Chief Operating Officer-North, Airtel Enterprise Services Milan Rao said.

Airtel will also be in a unique position to best address the global connectivity requirements of IT/ITeS majors owing to its extensive international footprint and access to multiple cable systems, he added.

Located 3 kms from Delhi on NH2 to Agra in Haryana, the HTP is a notified SEZ promoted by Selecto Systems Pvt Ltd and technically assisted by Paharpur Business Centre & Software Technology Incubator Park (PBCTM-STIP).

When completed by January 2010, 1.65 million square feet HTP building will have the capacity to service 30,000 users from the IT, KPO and BPO sectors.

Selecto Systems Chief Executive Officer Kamal Meattle said the arrangement with Airtel would ensure providing a sound communication backbone to the international clients and occupants at HTP making it the preferred destination for IT/ITeS firms in the NCR.
