IBM wins Rs 205 cr deal from CBDT

Global technology major IBM today said it has bagged a five year contract from India’s Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) worth Rs 205 crore to modernise its IT infrastructure.
Under the deal, IBM would offer integrated infrastructure solutions to CBDT’s three data centres in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai and facilities management services for the Income Tax Department across 745 offices, a IBM statement said.
The project would create a standardised ecosystem through a single databse available to all CBDT officers across India, it said.
It would also lead to increase in CBDT’s tax base and revenues and make it faster, cheaper and more secure for CBDT to scale up for future demands, the statement said.
