Bharti Teletech phones roll-out touches 2 cr

Bharti Teletech, the manufacturing arm of the Bharti Group, has achieved the distinction of becoming the first facility in the country to manufacture and despatch over 2 crore fixed line telephone instruments.

The company’s Ludhiana unit manufactures telephone instruments under both Beetel and GE brands.

Apart from catering to the domestic market, telephones manufactured at this the facility are being exported to 30 countries across the globe.

While the facility achieved the first 1 crore telephones manufacturing landmark in 16 years, it manufactured the next 1 crore telephone units in just over 4 years.

The company plans to enhance the productivity at the facility even further and is targeting to produce 3 crore telephones by 2010.

Bharti Teletech has a market share of about 60 per cent in the domestic market and offers the widest portfolio of products with over 45 models across the price range of Rs 295 to Rs 3,795.
