France Télécom (FT) is reported to be closing in on a INR2.5-3.0 billion (USD61.7-USD73.9 million) acquisition of Indian network services provider GTL Limited’s IT business. According to newspaper reports, ‘Orange Business Services, the business arm of France Telecom Group, is in an advanced stage of negotiations with GTL to acquire its enterprise and managed services division.’ GTL recently put its IT unit up for sale in order to focus on its core network services business. A deal is expected to be announced next week.
