Ex Cisco India head joins D-Link

Former Cisco India honcho Jangoo Dalal, who had quit the networking major recently, has taken over as managing director and CEO of smaller networking rival D-Link India Ltd.
D-Link on Tuesday announced that its board of directors had approved the Dalal’s appointment. “D-Link India Ltd is currently on the verge of a tremendous growth curve that pans markets across SMB’s to Large enterprises.
Dalal’s appointment as the new MD & CEO at D-Link India would help us drive forward our growth plans for the region, particularly by leveraging his rich experience across these markets and product segments,” said D-Link International president Tony Tsao in a statement.
Prior to this, Dalal was country head of enterprise – India & SAARC regions of Cisco Systems Inc and has spent 10 years in various roles at Cisco, including driving its big growth in India.
“I am truly excited about the opportunity that India presents to us today. D-Link, with its integrated strategy of local R&D, manufacturing and extensive sales and service network is truly poised to serve the Indian customer’s needs,” commented Dalal.
Dalal is an industry veteran with more than 20 years experience in the technology industry. Before joining Cisco in 1997, he served as marketing manager at Wipro-British Telecom.
“I would continue to help the company explore new opportunities in expanding our portfolio both geographically and through new products and technologies.,” said D-Link India executive chairman K R Naik.
