BSNL: Offers for central govt staff

BSNL today announced to launch Closed User Group (CUG) scheme for the benefits of central government employees in Himachal Pradesh.
The new scheme would be launched from August 15. Under the scheme, the central government employees and the PSUs in the state could become member of their CUG organisations and avail free talk time for 750 minutes per month and thereafter 10 paisa per minute with monthly charges of Rs 175, the Chief General Manager of the telecom circle, Anil Kaushal said here.
Free talk time of Rs 50 per month would also be available to the subscribers, he said.
To mark the Independence Day, Kaushal said that rental charges on BSNL mobile connections have been waived from August 6 to August 30.
BSNL has also introduced ‘ISEE’ service through which GPRS/edge customers could watch Zee TV network live on their mobiles.
The telecom group also proposed to add about 3.7 lakh new subscribers during 2007-08 with expansion plans to cover most of the uncovered areas of Himachal.
BSNL would also cover all villages having population of more than 500, Kaushal said, adding that cent per cent towns and cities of the state would be covered under mobile services.
The telecom circle would focus on providing broadband on demand at around 200 city exchanges, he said
