Bharti Airtel hikes STD rates up to 32 pc

Bharti Airtel, the country’s top mobile player, on Monday increased long distance tariffs for its prepaid and postpaid mobile customers in Delhi region by up to 32 per cent with effect from August 1.

The company said in a public notice it has increased STD rates to the Airtel network to Rs 2.65 from Rs 2 for prepaid customers and to Rs 2.40 from Rs 2 for postpaid subscribers.

However, Bharti said the changes would not be applicable to customers who have availed lifetime validity, easy lifetime validity, Airtel Yuva card or Airtel Youth pack.

The new tariffs would also not be applied to users who have subscribed to Airtel connections in the last six months till such time they complete six months and have not availed any discount pack.
